How You Can Help Those Devastated By Tornados In Nashville #NashvilleStrong

Written by on March 4, 2020

In the wake of the tornadoes that ripped though Tennessee on March–killing at least 22 people and damaging hundreds of structures–many folks are wondering how to help.

Money – To donate money, visit the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, which was created by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to support those affected by the tornadoes. The fund provides grants to nonprofits helping victims address ongoing needs. The grants will fund nonprofits for immediate and long-term response to the storm damage. www.cfmt.org/story/middle-tennessee-emergency-response-fund/

Items – To donate non-perishable items, visit The Community Resource Center at 218 Omohundro Place. Requested goods include personal hygiene items, bleach, trash bags, gloves and box cutters. www.crcnashville.org/

Food – To donate food, visit Second Harvest Food Bank. Every $1 donation provides four meals. www.secondharvestmidtn.org/donate-now/

Time – To volunteer your time to assist in clean-up efforts, visit Hands On Nashville. As individual clean-up projects are identified, they will be added to the site. www.hon.org/
