We all scream for National Ice Cream Month
Written by admin on July 6, 2020
As if we needed an excuse to eat anything frozen with heat index values near 100, July is National Ice Cream Month, so why not?!
There are plenty of delicious national holidays to bring daily flavor inspiration from National Strawberry Sundae Day (July 7), to National Peach Ice Cream Day (July 17), National Hot Fudge Sundae Day (July 25) and all others in between. Or, we can just clean out what is left in the candy or cookie jar for toppings.
For anyone who may be hesitant to dive into the trend, it takes 12 pounds of milk to make one gallon of ice cream. To put that into real terms, that’s about a gallon and a half of milk to make one gallon of ice cream, so an easy excuse is that we are supporting local farmers. Plus, it takes about 50 licks to finish a single scoop ice cream cone, so that’s a workout in and of itself.
Scoop, sprinkle, and sample your way through the summer months, and we won’t tell anyone if you lick the bowl clean (guilty!).
