Ten Years ago today, then President Barack Obama presented the Congressional Medal of Honor To Army Staff Sargent Salvatore Giunta. SGT. Giunta was the first living member from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to receive the nation’s top military award. Giunta, the Grandson of Italian immigrants was born in Clinton, Iowa and raised in Hiawatha. After graduation from Kennedy High School, He enlisted in The US Army. Gotta love those Iowa Boys !
