Belleau Wood

Bauer’s Market and Garden Center of LaCresent presents the 7AM shout out. The Pledge of Allegiance with DUKE. On November 18th, 1955 a Memorial was dedicated to the 4th Marine Brigade at Belleau Wood, France. It was presided over By Marine General Lem Shepherd. US Marines fought valiantly at Belleau Wood, but none as courageous as the 4th Marines. 9500 Men went into battle, 1087 were killed in action. 4000 were wounded, gassed, or missing. That is a 55% casualty rate. All 1087 dead are buried in France. God Bless the 4th Marines.
