Your Favorite Claymation Christmas Specials Ranked
Written by Tony Schultz on December 18, 2020
Every holiday season we all feel like kids waiting for the “specials” to be on. Whether your favorite is Charlie Brown or Frosty they all hold a special place in our hearts. Probably the most magical shows were the “Claymation” shows like “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” or “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” where Rankin & Bass used stop motion to bring their characters to life. Rudolph was the first and as they took off with takes on songs and books. They had a story about Jack Frost, Frosty and Rudolph teaming up on New Year’s Eve and even one based on “Wizard Of Oz” author L. Frank Baum’s book about the origin of Santa. My personal all time favorite is “The Year Without A Santa Claus” for it’s funny characters and the true meaning of Christmas and that it’s better to give than to receive. And when it snows, who doesn’t sing “I”m Mr. White Christmas” by Snow Miser? Entertainment weekly compiled a list and I feel it’s pretty dead on. Sure some are debatable, but in the end they make us feel the true meaning of the season.
