Morgan Wallen talks to fans on Instagram after using racist slur: Says, ‘I Was Wrong’

Morgan Wallen posted a five-minute Instagram video yesterday addressing his use of the N-word. He urges fans not to defend him, admits to being sober for 9 days, and takes full ownership for his offensive remark.
“I appreciate those who still see something in me and have defended me. But for today, please don’t. I was wrong,” he said. “I fully accept any penalties I’m facing.”
“I let so many people down,” he said. “I let my parents down and they’re the furthest thing from … the person in that video. I let my son down, and I’m not okay with that.” Watch the full video here.
After the video of his racial slur surfaced, Morgan was suspended indefinitely by his label. His songs have been removed by radio stations across the country, and CMT has also removed his likeness from all of their platforms.
The Academy of Country Music also announced that it will “halt” Wallen’s “involvement and eligibility” at this year’s awards show.
