A district court judge offered to allow Him to Join the Marines, on November 15th, 1951 He did just that. He did basic training in San Diego and was assigned to the Platoon 419. His outfit was never sent to Korea for which George was eternally grateful. after an Honorable discharge in 1954 his music career took off. Semper Fi to the late George Jones.
