Tic Tac is Getting In On the Space Buzz

Billionaires aren’t the only ones heading to space. The breath mint brand, Tic Tac is sending a vessel to space next week on August 4th. They’ll be using a custom made balloon with the help of the aerospace company, Sent Into Space, which specializes in high altitude balloons.

This isn’t the first time that Tic Tac has been associated with space. Noah Szporn, Senior Vice President of Ferrero Sugar Confections North America, says “Tic Tac has a very strong connection with the history of space, having launched the same year that American astronauts landed on the moon in 1969.” He also references a 2004 occurrence by Navy Lt. Commander Alex Dietrich who reported a UFO in the shape of a Tic Tac breath mint.

Tic Tac is asking people to submit custom messages or phrases to put in the vessel when it’s launched to help make connections with extraterrestrials. The deadline to submit something is August 1st.
