Teams Announced for the 2022 MLB ‘Field of Dreams’ Game

The ‘Field of Dreams’ game last week in Dyersville, Iowa between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox was about as perfect as it could get. The environment, weather, and field were all more than ideal. Oh, and the game wasn’t bad either as it ended in a walk-off win for the White Sox. It was the most watched MLB regular season game on television in sixteen years.

The game definitely left baseball fans wanting more and Major League Baseball will be giving them exactly that. Sources within Major League Baseball confirmed that in 2022, the ‘Field of Dreams’ game will be held on Thursday, August 11th and will be the Cincinnati Reds versus the Chicago Cubs. It makes sense to have the Cubs as there is a relatively large fan base in the state considering their Triple-A affiliate is located in Des Moines.

Details still need to be ironed out as next year’s schedules for both teams don’t reflect the current plan. So that will have to be adjusted with the idea being both teams to have Friday off after the game and conclude the series over the weekend in Cincinnati.
