SPANX CEO REWARDS EMPLOYEES WITH PLANE TICKETS AND A LOT OF MONEY

Most of us reading this are not millionaires. We aren’t even “thousandaires” if such a thing exists. However, we have all had that thought and discussion about what we would do if we were either through our own hard work or if we won the lottery. Sara Blakely is the founder of Spanx, a clothing company that touts itself as being run by women for women where they make compression undergarments and more. The company has been in business since 1998 and was seen as a huge moment in the clothing industry. Here we are 22 years later and Blakely has been pretty successful on her own, but it went next level when an investment firm decided to back her business. Now we all complain about rich people and what they do with their money whether they don’t give back at all or not enough according to the public. Sara decided that her gain was going back to her employees in a huge way. She had an announcement party to celebrate the investment news and told her employees that they were all getting two first class plane tickets to anywhere in the world! Considering most are going to use that to go across one ocean or the other that can be close to a $10,000 gift. But she wasn’t done there as she then also tacked on another $10,000 cash to use however they see fit. Not every big time CEO is a modern version of Ebeneezer Scrooge, and it gives me a little hope that others might follow suit. I’m not holding my breath, but it’s fun to dream.
