Support local on Giving Tuesday
Written by admin on November 30, 2021
Today is ‘Giving Tuesday,’ which is defined as “the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, during which people are encouraged to donate to charity or carry out acts of kindness as an antidote to the consumerism of the preceding days.”
‘Giving Tuesday’ allows people to donate to local charities reminding everyone that the holidays are not just about buying, but also giving, hence “the season of giving.” An extra dollar or two in the Salvation Army red kettle, a pair of warm socks donated to the La Crosse Warming Center, or an hour of volunteer time goes a long way. If interested, the Salvation Army is looking for volunteer bell ringers for the Red Kettle Campaign. Get more info here.
The La Crosse area has many nonprofit, educational and other agencies with the mission of each addressing various needs in the community and helping those less fortunate. For a list of local nonprofits, the La Crosse Community Foundation has several on their website here.
