Country Boom Headliners Announced | July 7-9, 2022

Country Boom returns to Maple Grove Venues in West Salem from July 7-9, 2022. It’ll be the fourth year of the summer festival. Jon Holthaus, founder of Country Boom, visited with Brandon Scott in the morning to reveal the headliners for the festival and no doubt it’ll be the best year yet. They are as follows:

Thursday, July 7th 2022: Blackhawk

Blackhawk were founded in the early 1990s, and had a string of hits during the decade. Their debut self-titled album and most known single, “Goodbye Says It All” was released in 1993. Other singles from the album include, “Every Once in a While,” “I Sure Can Smell the Rain,” and “That’s Just About Right.” They released their sophomore album, “Strong Enough” in 1995 which produced the singles, “I’m Not Strong Enough to Say No,” and “Like There Ain’t No Yesterday.” They would release a third album titled, “Love & Gravity” in 1998 and a Greatest Hits collection in 2000.

Friday, July 8th 2022: Russell Dickerson

Russell Dickerson broke into the country music scene in a big way in 2016 with the debut of his studio album, “Yours” which also produced the chart topping single of the same name. Dickerson made his Grand Ole Opry debut later that year and would also produce two more hit singles, “Blue Tacoma,” and “Every Little Thing.” He released his sophomore album, “Southern Symphony” in 2020 with the lead single, “Love You Like I Used To” reaching number one on the U.S. Country Airplay chart. His latest single, “Home Sweet” continues to climb the charts. Dickerson and his wife, Kailey, welcomed their first son, Remington, in September of 2020.

Saturday, July 9th 2022: Brothers Osborne

The country music duo of Brothers Osborne (brothers T.J. and John) released their debut single, “Let’s Go There” in 2013 with limited success. It wasn’t until 2015, when their single, “Stay A Little Longer” became their first major hit reaching number two on the U.S. Country Airplay chart. The song was also featured on their debut album titled “Pawn Shop” which dropped in 2016. The album would also generate two additional singles, “21 Summer” and “It Ain’t My Fault.They would release a second album titled “Port Saint Joe” in 2018 and most recently a third, “Skeletons” in 2020. The group has won five ACM (Academy of Country Music) awards, four CMA’s (Country Music Association) awards, including the most recent CMA for Vocal Duo of the Year in 2021, and nominated for seven Grammy Awards.
