STATE REPRESENTATIVE TRIES TO PANTS REF AT BASKETBALL GAME

You may or may not know that in my spare time I coach sports. I’ve done it for 21 years at the youth level and with 7th and 8th graders. If there is one thing that has hurt sports the most over the years it has been parents. You ask any ref or coach and they’ll tell you that. When I was in school there was always that one parent at every school that couldn’t keep their mouth closed, but for the most part was harmless. Now there is a glut of instances where a parent either yells at a ref or a coach due to playing time, a bad call, you name it. Whatever is keeping their 11 year old from realizing their dreams (the parents) of becoming a professional athlete at that moment. I’ve experienced it first hand but never has it gotten to the point of being physical. Recently a parent got a little too excited about the way his kid’s game was being officiated and he decided to approach the officials during the game. When they kicked him out he thought it might be a great idea to try to pull the official’s pants down. That’s a new one. What makes this more saucy is that the parent is State Rep. Jeremy Faison of Tennessee. I’m sure he thought this was a bad idea later when you can pretty much charge him with assault even though his pantsing attempt failed.
