WATER MAIN BREAKS AT SKI RESORT SPRAYING SKIERS IN LIFT

Imagine you’re going for a nice afternoon of skiing. The powder is fresh and the runs are smooth. It’s a nice cold day on the slopes. As you ride up the lift thinking about carving your next run you hear people screaming not because they are having fun, but out of terror. It happened in North Carolina where a hydrant, used to supply the snow machines was hit by a skier and it sent a Hollywood movie stream of water into the air. Now if we saw it in a movie it would either be cool because the hero used it to blast bad guys off the lift or funny because those mean snobby skiers got their just desserts from the rag tag group of goofballs. This is real life though so it was not good at all. Some people got thrown off the lift and one group got stuck right over it getting blasted with cold water. It was definitely not the state of water they expected to encounter that day.
