Woman Drives Car Onto Frozen River, Takes Selfies As the Car Sinks

Have you ever been on a frozen lake or river, or maybe driven a vehicle on the ice? Beforehand, it’s a good idea to check the depth of the ice to make sure it’s safe and will support you or your vehicle and not fall through.
A woman in Ottawa, Canada did NOT take that into consideration and drove her car, or SPED down a frozen icy river. A person who lives on the river got video footage of her flying by in her yellow car.
That’s not the crazy part of the story. She hit a thin spot on the ice and her car began to sink as it fell through. As it began to sink, people on shore scrambled and found a kayak to try and rescue her while others were yelling “get out.”
She eventually made it onto the roof of her car, and stood there taking SELFIES! Because who doesn’t do that? Eventually, she was rescued as people tied a rope to a kayak and pushed it out to her and pulled her to shore.
The woman is facing charges of one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada. She could also lose her license. It’s not clear if she’ll face other charges.
It’s crazy what some people will do, or the lengths they will go for clicks and likes. Obviously this could not have ended well for her, but glad to see everyone is safe.
