WALKER HAYES DROWNS OUT CBS HALFTIME BROADCAST

The NFL gave us another great weekend of playoff football! Four teams playing in the Championship Games to see who will play in the Super Bowl! Both games had their moments of excitement and tension with big plays and defensive stops. What most people are talking about today other than the games themselves is the AFC Championship halftime show which featured Country Music artist Walker Hayes. He of “Fancy Like” fame was performing for the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium and many thought they would do like they do during the Thanksgiving games where the TV viewing audience gets to see the performance. Instead CBS had the sideline crew talk about the first half while Walker was singing about hitting up Applebee’s for an Oreo shake. What happened next was hilarious as you could barely hear what the CBS crew was saying and for most of it you couldn’t hear anything they were talking about. I watched and listened as Boomer, Phil and the crew tried to yell over the music and get more and more frustrated. It took me a bit to realize there was a stack of speakers directly behind them blasting the music. No amount of sound mixing in the booth could have cleared that up. Even Walker made a joke about it after the game.
