EMS PERSONNEL RESCUE PERSON IN CAR DURING BLIZZARD

Watching this video is chilling without any puns intended. You can see firefighters trying to cut the top off a truck to save a trapped accident victim from a major pile up. Adding to the accident’s aftermath is that fact that they are doing this during a blizzard with whiteout conditions. Trying to stay warm and protected while trying to extricate a person who very well could be severely injured adds a level of intensity not needed. We’ve all seen the videos of these massive pileups over the years, but really never seen what happens to those who would not or could not leave their vehicles. This shows exactly how difficult these types of rescues can be and the risk that EMS workers take. When you leave your home or work and conditions are this bad you may want to rethink if the trip is worth it or if a hotel room might be a better option then being stuck for hours in the cold in the middle of nowhere.
