GIANT SPIDERS ARE ON THE WAY TO AMERICA!
Written by Tony Schultz on March 9, 2022
Actually, they are already here! The Joro spider is native to Japan, but has showed up in America and most specifically Georgia. The belief is they came over on a shipping vessel and multiplied. Why is this a bit of a scary story? These spiders are kind of big getting up to 3 inches long and they “parachute” in on their webs in the spring and grow larger in a few months. Nice huh? The good thing is that they are harmless to humans and can’t bite you. The only time I can see them being of harm is if one parachutes into your face and you start flailing around in a panicked dance of terror. We’ll be safe from seeing them for a while up here, but they do survive in the cold and the East Coast could see a significant spawning this year. I hope you enjoy this new injection of nightmare fuel.
