Black Oak Grill & Saloon: Holmen, WI:
The Black Oak Grill & Saloon is definitely a “hidden gem” that can be found off of Country Road V north of Holmen. A perfect place where people gather and you feel welcomed the minute you step foot into the place. It’s a smaller place, but lots of great company, the food was delicious and the owner, Vincent was extremely nice, engaging with people and I could tell was passionate about Black Oak.
I tried the “western burger” for dinner during my visit. A burger topped with melted pepper jack cheese, bacon, sautéed onions and BBQ sauce on the side. It was served with chips and a pickle.
They do have some daily specials including Sundays with $1 off of all burgers. They also run a happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 3pm-6pm with fifty cents off of drinks.
Their hours are Tuesday through Friday from 3pm-Close, and Saturday and Sunday from Noon-Close (kitchen hours are 4pm-10pm all days). Also, every first and third Thursday of the month is Country Karaoke and the second and fourth Thursday is live music from Denny Anderson.
Other live musical acts and summer events are being planned. Follow them on Facebook to stay updated here.
