A COUPLE OF KENTUCKY DERBY HORSES ARE FROM MINNESOTA
Written by Tony Schultz on May 6, 2022
It’s not often that Minnesota gets connected to one of the biggest events in sports. The Kentucky Derby is billed as “the greatest 2 minutes in sports” and is considered the biggest horse race of the year and kicks off The Triple Crown of races. Minnesota has been a part of Kentucky Derby history when Unbridled won in 1990. Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN has had racing for decades and has become a prime location to come race horses with their sizable purses. The great thing is you can go there and put a minimum of $2 down on a race and really not overspend your limits. It can be a real fun day. Now we’ll see not just one but two horses in this year’s derby and both have a chance to win the biggest race of the year.
