LIGHTNING AND TOILET COMBINE FOR EXPLOSIVE RESULT

When I was growing up I always remembered my parents telling me not to take a shower or bath during a lightning storm. I could be electrocuted! I always thought it was an old wives’ tale when I got in my teen years. That never happens! They never said anything about using the toilet during a storm though. I’ve seen stories the last few years of toilets getting a lightning strike through them with a ground strike close enough to travel through the pipes. Very rare that this happens, but it has. This story is even more insane as lightning hit an apartment building in the ventilation stack and the bolt traveled to the ceiling vent in an apartment and struck the toilet! Apparently, no one lived in the unit, but they were moving in that day. Good thing it was in use at the time. The pictures circulating do make it appear someone had a bad experience with their final meal.
