“ELVIS” COMES OUT THIS WEEKEND AND KASEY MUSGRAVES IS ON THE SOUNDTRACK

Whether you are a fan of Elvis Presley or not you know who “The King Of Rock n Roll” is. He was not just a singer, but a moment in pop music that spawned new styles, artists, and the first singer that was adored by various audiences. He was almost mythical in his performances and a younger generation might think he was something made up specifically for a movie, a fictional character. He was arguably the first one-name artist that you needed to stop after saying his first name. Baz Luhrmann is tackling a story that has been attempted many times to different levels of success in his biographical movie “Elvis” that comes out this weekend. Audiences are raving about it and it seems to have to most important stamps of approval it could get: Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley. Just today I found this version “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” on YouTube being sung by Kasey Musgraves. It is absolutely beautiful and haunting. Using footage from the movie it is clear that they want you to know that it is a reflection of Priscilla singing to Elvis in the scenes they use. Take a listen and see what you think.
