SOUTH DAKOTA WEATHER TRANSPORTS THEM TO THE EMERALD CITY

The last day or so has been a weather person’s dream when it comes to pictures. Several people that live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area were posting pictures on social media of beautiful golden skies and some that made it look as though the sky was on fire. These effects are caused by the way the water vapor id carrying in the air and then light reflecting off of or passing through them. In Sioux Falls, South Dakota it went a step farther the other night. Not only did the sky turn a deep emerald green, but everywhere around it took on the green hue reminiscent of the Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz. It really is beautiful even though it also gives on ominous feeling of potentially bad storms coming.
