HURRICANE IAN HAS A PATH TOWARD FLORIDA
Written by Tony Schultz on September 27, 2022
It seems every year you have someone complaining about the weather around here. Whether it’s the subzero temperatures with added windchill or the hot as Hades temps with the humidity factor we struggle through some annoying weather. The thing that bothers most people is those that complain about it endlessly and act like it’s a surprise that it snows in the winter here. In other news, Margery: water in wet! Occasionally we get the extreme snowstorm or damaging winds and a few times this last year we have had tornado action in our area. At least we don’t have an entire season dedicated to a storm of massive proportions that we all know will be coming at some point. That would be Hurricane Season that the east and gulf coasts enjoy. Every year they wait for the inevitable storms that are so prevalent that they get their own names. Some just spin off into the ocean of never make it past the tropical storm stage, but when they do we get a nationwide watch of “Hurricane (your name here)”. The latest to spin up and is already affecting Cuba is Ian. Said to be a category 4 Hurricane that can cause major damage and causes the cost of plywood to increase. The scary thing is you never really know how bad one might be or where it will strike exactly. You just sit, watch, and wait, and then clean up.
