If you’re a parent there is no way you’re perfectly dressed or made up for every occasion or event in life. Whether you throw on a ball cap to cover up your bed head or you throw a breath mint in instead of brushing your teeth because you’re running late to get the kids to basketball practice we’ve all had our reasons. Sometimes it’s just throwing on those lounge pants with the rip in the back to drop them off at school because hey, you’re not getting out of the car anyways. We have ALL raced straight from work to a game or concert in our work clothes to not miss a second of their event. The other night someone snapped a picture at a Kentucky men’s basketball game of a man with his son in the stands. This gentleman not only came straight from work and was in his work clothes, but wearing his job so to speak. He is a a coal miner and was so excited to get to spend an evening of basketball with his son he came straight from work covered in coal dust. Some might turn their nose up at it, but this dad made his son’s day, and you can tell that in the picture and see the happiness on the little boy’s face because his dad was there with him. It is a shining example of what a parent will put aside to be there for their kid. Hats off to you, sir! Cool thing is Coach John Calipari made sure that the next time they came that they are going to be treated as VIPs.
