BOY SCOUT RAISES MAJOR FUNDS FOR FOSTER KIDS’ CHRISTMAS
Written by Tony Schultz on December 20, 2022
Every year, especially in fall there are kids out selling item after item. Whether it’s wrapping paper, meats and cheeses, fruit, or cookies your door gets knocked on, or there is a sign up sheet in the break room at work. We all know it usually goes to a good organization, but not always where it goes directly. Johnathan Werner, a Boy Scout raised over $56,000 and used $11,000 of that to buy toys for kids in foster care. These kids are in foster care and those in a domestic violence shelter. He even reads their wish lists and buys as best he can. Inspired by his dad’s youth in foster care he uses that to make Christmas better for those kids that need it more than ever. Johnathan is a true hero at only 12 years old. Great job!
