ONE VIDEO, SO MANY CLICHES

Road rage comes in many forms. On the lighter side it’s as small as muttering under their breath so the kids don’t repeat what you said and the obscene figure gesture of the one finger salute. On the other end are people ramming their cars into people, brandishing weapons, and physically assaulting the cause of their outrage. As more people have cameras installed in their cars or have a form of body camera on them for the sake of protection we get more videos of people driving inappropriately and/or putting their anger on full display. If you think that only certain types of people have these moments you would be wrong. One thing I get a little miffed at while driving is ANYONE who thinks they don’t have to be aware of those around them, but my most bothersome group is bicycle riders that do this. First, I don’t want to hit, run over, bump, injure, or kill you while you ride a bike, but you make that hard if you don’t obey your own rules and personal safety. It’s not often in the tri-state area that I have this problem, but when I lived in the Twin Cities it was rampant. Cyclists running stop signs, groups taking up entire lanes, and weaving in front of my vehicle was a frequent occurrence. Once bike lanes and trails were put in it subsided quite a bit. The new problem was watching drivers not respect those lanes and causing near misses. I’ve seen a small incident balloon beyond a minor miscue. In this video this man has apparently had enough of bicyclists and their antics. He also watches a lot of movies, as well. The angry vehicle driver throws out a bevy of tough guy cliches that sound familiar enough despite his misquote of the lines. Don’t really know who’s to blame here as I’m just happy for this video.
