THE “INSTAGRAM THING” IS REAL

New relationships, they aren’t official nowadays until they’re social media official it seems. We often see someone’s relationship status change on Facebook followed by friends and family congratulating them or telling them that it’s about time they announced it. It has become the social norm and almost a cause of concern when you know someone is dating and doesn’t post it. How about if you’re in a long and happy relationship and the person seems to not acknowledge it much farther than that? This brings us to the “Instagram Thing”. This is when the person you are involved with never posts pictures with you in them or really mentions you at all. It doesn’t mean they’re necessarily cheating on you, but it gives the indication that they are kind of keeping their options open. Even people that are in happy, long term relationships are seeing this. So, when you get that lame excuse as to why they don’t have pictures of you up on their socials it may be more than just, “I’m never on there.”
