REF GRABS HELMET OFF PLAYER IN GAME AND THEN EJECTS HIM

There’s a lot of things happening on a football field when a play is running. With 22 players generally on the field there are many spots your eyes could see action even away from where the ball is going. Add in the refs and there are another 4 or 5 people on the field affecting the action. Sometimes those refs get a lot of guff for making bad calls or no calls at all and sometimes they get in the way of the action while trying to keep an eye on things. They do their best to keep out of the action, but sometimes they can’t move fast enough to stay out of harms way. In Texas the other night a ref got a little too involved in a play when a linebacker on the defense ran into him while tracking a play. The ref grabbed the player by the face mask and tore off his helmet. He then flagged and ejected the player. When I watch the video it appears to be an accidental hit. I’m not sure what the ref thought was going on but it is making the rounds. I hope we hear more info on the final resolution and reason why this happened.
