SOUTH CAROLINA RIVER CLEAN UP REVEALS CIVIL WAR ARTIFACTS

I’m a bit of a lover of history. Old buildings fascinate me with the stories I feel like they could tell. Seeing old pictures, especially of local locales is cool because of how much change you can see at times. I have a few antiques in my home that have a small story to them, but nothing I can tie to a historical event or moment. During a recent river clean-up in South Carolina the crew came across some items that were not just mere garbage. Cannon balls, swords, and even an old wagon wheel were found that had been dumped there by Union General Sherman and his troops as retook the South in the Civil War. Some were still deemed a bit dangerous.
