YOUR TOILET JUST STARTED ON FIRE. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Having “smart” appliances is all the rage, even for stuff that definitely doesn’t NEED to be smart like a toilet.  And sometimes, there are downsides to things being overly complicated. There’s a story making the rounds online about a man in China who had his “smart toilet” burst into flames WHILE he was using it. It happened a few weeks ago.  The man first sensed that something was wrong when he smelled smoke.  Then he SAW plumes of white smoke billowing from the toilet bowl.  That’s when he got off. Just then before he could pull up his pants up the toilet exploded, and started burning.  Thankfully he wasn’t hurt.  It’s unclear what started the fire, but the man thinks it may have been sparked by a short circuit. It’s unclear what kind of “smart toilet” he had, but there are ones that have  automatic flushing, heated toilet seats, water conservation features, and self-cleaning functions.
