“DOOR PLUG” FLIES OFF AIRPLANE MID-FLIGHT
Written by Tony Schultz on January 10, 2024
By now you’ve heard about the Alaska airlines flight that lost a door. At least that’s what they THOUGHT it was. In fact, it was a “plug” that the manufacturers put on when the airline doesn’t want or need an emergency exit at that point. Shortly into the flight the plug on the aircraft popped out! So you have to wonder what happened to the people on the plane? They were all OK. While the seats next to the opening did get some of their cushioning torn off there wasn’t anyone sitting in the seats right next to it. They missed their flight! There is video of the plane returning to the airport with the oxygen masks down and definite breeze blowing through the plane, but not as dramatically as in a movie. The plane landed OK and no one was injured, and the rest of that type of plane was grounded until all of them are checked to make sure they’re safe. While there wasn’t anymore significant damage I’m sure they had to clean all the seats in the plane as everyone probably crapped their pants. Needless to say if I was on there I might not want to fly for a while.
