BEES HOLD UP BASEBALL GAME UNTIL A HERO ARRIVED

Written by on May 1, 2024

This is the time of year when animals are starting to get back into their summer and spring activity. We see more of them running around and active. Obviously it’s the time of year for insects to become the most active. You’ll see more mosquitos and gnats and, of course bees. The latter can be overly aggressive this time of year as they search for a new place to live and sometimes form large swarms that people can get tangled up with. If you’re allergic it presents a huge problem, but even the most resistant person will have to go to the hospital if you get attacked by a swarm of bees whether they’re honey bees or killer bees. At an Arizona Diamondbacks game last night they had to delay the start of the game against the Dodgers because a swarm decided to setup camp at the top of the backstop behind home plate. Luckily the MLB broadcast had a camera exactly at that spot and they saw it immediately start. The large swarm quickly became an issue and they called for pest control to come collect the bees. After the pest control agent got done he was lauded a hero and they had him throw out the first pitch! It was a bad situation that everyone made the best of in the end without anyone getting stung. You can see the pile of bees in the picture on X and then a highlight video of the entire event below.
