COUNTRY STAR OF THE MONTH: BRYAN MARTIN

Bryan Martin’s journey to Country Music notoriety is not easy nor is it all sunshine and roses. While he found some inspiration in his pain it is that pain that almost overcame him. At the age of 19 he had lived a rough life at home. He found solace by going into the woods across from his home, but that was not enough. Bryan attempted to take his own life. He had quit school and joined the military, but had to leave and he felt that was a failure he couldn’t get over. Luckily, the gun he was going to use misfired and the next day he not only got a new job, but met his future wife. Things certainly turned around for him.

A few years ago his song “We Ride” started to get some attention on Tik Tok. Along with the new wave of Country artists with a more traditional sound Bryan started to gain traction on the charts. Martin has been involved in many things like oil rig work and even bull riding. Things really came into perspective when he was involved in a near fatal accident which resulted in a brain injury. He decided it was time to get his life going in another direction. As he put it on his bio on his website, “I made a promise that I was going to take all these broken promises and this guitar that I’d been hiding behind for so long and I was going to make it go to work for once and make it pay itself off. I had done all the suffering I was going to do.” Seems to be going in the right direction. Bryan will be performing at Country Boom as part of the Saturday line-up.
