TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF INTERRUPTED BY PROTESTORS

Over the years it seems that major sporting events are a magnet for people to run out and try to be part of the action. Either streaking on the field during the Super Bowl or sometimes trying to bring awareness to their cause. A few years ago some protestors went to a few Minnesota Timberwolves games and glued their hands to the court. They were quickly and – they suddenly found when their hand was pulled from the court painfully removed. Protestors are not a new phenomenon at sporting events, but they have gotten better at getting on camera. Usually, the cameras stay off of them to keep their attention to a minimum but the internet and news end up showing them anyways. This weekend protestors ran onto the course of the Travelers Championship wearing shirts that said “No Golf On a Dead Planet” which I can only guess at their motivation. They were dressed like most people in the gallery and came running on the green throwing powder and smoke grenade. Police quickly swarmed them all and they went home in handcuffs. And by home I mean jail. The BEST response by far was Shooter McGavin himself, Christopher McDonald who quoted himself from Happy Gilmore.
