BOB UECKER IS ONE OF THE GREATEST ANNOUNCERS IN HISTORY AND HE’S STILL GOING STRONG AT 90

“GET UP! GET UP! GET OUTTA HERE AND GOOOOONNNNE!” That’s Bob Uecker’s signature home run call when he’s calling a Brewers game and the home team puts on over the fence. When I first started at Mid-West Family I had to run Brewers games in our sports station WKTY. I’m not a huge baseball fan and the Brewers are not my team. As I listened game after game for years there was one constant, Bob Uecker. Sure, I knew Bob as “Mr. Baseball”, his Miller Lite commercials where he famously exclaimed “I must be in the front row!”, as a dad on Mr. Belvedere, and as Harry Doyle in the Major League movies. However, I really didn’t know he was the voice of the Brewers and had been for decades. You would think a voice and character like him would be in New York or Chicago. At 90 years old he’s still doing what he does best and that’s call Brewers games. He takes some games off, but when he’s on it is always great announcing. I thought it was great of MLB to do this video and show you that “Mr. Baseball” is still the same guy and has never let his fame go to his head.
