We sometimes dread that reply to an email that needs immediate attention, “I’m currently out of the office…” We now know that the person that we need to reach is gone and we are dead in the water. Sure, they may refer us to someone else, but we know that person won’t be the help we need because they don’t know it as well as the original email recipient. When we take vacation and get to set up our “out of office” message we take time to think about who you can throw your work at while you’re gone and the fact that they aren’t going to be as good as you answering any questions. Will the office fall apart when you’re gone? Who cares?! This video shows how one man decided to send out his “out of office” auto response.
