LASER POINTERS BECOMING A PROBLEM FOR LIVE CONCERTS

While they may be fun and useful tools laser pointers can be a major problem for several industries. We’ve heard stories over the years of people pointing them at players during sporting events, pointing them at performers, and even at aircraft including the military. You might not think it’s a big deal, but imagine getting a laser light in the eye while you’re trying to do your job. Not only is it distracting it can causing injuries to your eyes. Now imagine being on stage and seeing it somewhere on your body. Again, you might not think it’s a big deal, but living in a world where shooters have opened fire at concerts it is a definite concern for everyone at the venue. Nick Jonas just had a laser pointer on him at a concert overseas and he immediately ran off the stage while alerting his security. With people throwing things at performers and injuring them it’s already bad enough, but this adds a new concern that must be taken seriously.
