Not every competition involves two teams facing off on the court or field. A competition that fits more in the category of competitive eating that would show up on ESPN 8: The Ocho is growing large food items. Pumpkins are the pinnacle of large foods especially this time of year. Whoever can grow and successfully transport their gigantic pumpkin to the competition has a chance to win fame, fortune, and continued finances due to selling the seed from their pumpkins. Travis Gienger of Anoka, Minnesota is this year’s Giant Pumpkin Champion with a pumpkin that came just short of the world record. He’s OK with that since he’s the one who set it last year.
