Microsoft Outlook and Teams Not Cooperating With One Another This Morning
Written by Bill Dollar on November 25, 2024
Proving once again that something similar to the CrowdStrike issue a short time ago that interrupted service might rear its ugly head at any time, Microsoft Outlook users had an interruption in service for half the day today. Email and Teams calendar functions were affected after an initial problem was identified at 9am Eastern time. Ninety-eight percent of users were affected. A fix was implemented a short time after the initial discovery.
Are you more prone to blaming your computer when this happens than blaming your provider? Coincidentally, Microsoft was set to roll out a Recall AI tool today, which would take snapshots of computer activity that you could use later if you could not remember a certain keyword or date to find information. A friend used to pronounce it as a “coinky-dink” instead of a coincidence.
The issue seemed to be resolved for the most part this afternoon. Thank goodness we still have cell phones and texting in case we need to reach someone outside of the electronic mail option. Tin cans and string also comes to mind as an alternative way to get your message to its destination.
