[TRENDING NOW] HOW MUCH ARE AMERICAN’S TIPPING ON AVERAGE

We’ve all dealt with it.

You’re wrapping up with a cashier when they flip the screen around and tell you that it’s going to “ask you a few questions”. Tipping is everywhere and there’s a new poll on the “State of tipping” in the US. It looked at how much we tip on average, why we tip and just how disgruntled we are about it.

The average tip is about 18.9% and men are typically tipping more at about 19 percent

Millennials tip the most at about 19.5%.

The highest tipping state is Delaware, tipping about 21% on average with California leaving the worst tips at about 17%. The study is claiming that servers are making around $16.50 an hour.

And around 71% of those polled say that tips are expected too often.
