[TRENDING NOW] NEW YORK YANKEE’S BATS CREATE CONTROVERSY ON BASEBALL’S OPENING WEEKEND
Written by Jesse Skelley on March 31, 2025
To say it was a rough weekend for the Milwaukee Brewers would certainly be an understatement.
The Crew had NINE home runs hit against them in their visit to Yankee Stadium on Saturday, leading to the Yankee’s winning 20-9 and inevitably sweeping the opening series. But it wasn’t without controversy.
Several of New York’s players were using “torpedo bats” which are quote, ” which are thicker at the “sweet spot”, rather than being an even circumference down the grain. That puts more mass where the hitter is trying to make contact.”
Now, these bats aren’t illegal and the Yankee’s aren’t the only team that are using these bats. But it’s clear that they could be leading to an advantage. Even if the Brewer’s pitching staff is going through a rough patch.
